*sigh*

I can’t believe this baby is already a week old. Amazing.

Kolt is the first baby I am getting to photograph in totally natural light in his own home. No flashes. No studio lights. In his environment. Isn’t that great!? I’m so in love with natural light photography and really want to continue to take my business in this direction. Not that there isn’t something to be said about my more traditional “black on black” newborn photography–it will always be classic and dramatic. But, this. This is…extraordinary. And isn’t that what I’m going for? No one around here has ever seen anything like this.

I just love this baby so much. I love my friends’ children as my own–and think I have a pretty special relationship with them. But, K is my first close friend to actually have a child while we are friends. All of my other friends with kids–they had kids before our relationships. It has been amazing to be on this journey with her. I have really treasured it.

Gawd, don’t you just want to eat him up!?
